Welcome to 408 VAAV
This is a helpful guide to enjoying your stay at the beach. Relax and enjoy!
Fill Out The Form
If you haven’t already, please fill out this form prior to picking up your keys.
Visit Checklist
Because of COVID-19, you’ll need to bring a few extra things than usual. Here’s a list of the items you will need to bring:
King size sheets, extra blankets
Bath and beach towels
Hand sanitizer
Beach accouterments
Shampoo, soap, etc.
Parking
There is a parking permit available for one car in the top of the desk to the left of the kitchen door. This is valid for parking anyplace where there are not meters, but always double check to make sure! Please return the pass to the top of the desk at the end of your visit to make sure it will be there for the next visitor!
Occupancy
Because of COVID we request that you do not bring other visitors to the unit. Pets are also not allowed for visitors.
Door Blinds
The wooden door blinds require a little TLC when using. When opening and closing the blinds make sure to turn the slats to an open position (perpendicular to the door) first using the ball chain pull, and then open or close the blinds using the cord pull. Open and close the blinds slowly and make sure there are no cords or other obstructions under them.
Television/Internet
Cable TV is not provided with your rental. The smart TV has a dedicated Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Disney+ account for you to use. You can’t purchase pay-per view or rent/buy movies on these accounts. Should you want to use your laptop or phone to watch movies and stream other media, there is an HDMI cable for your convenience. You will need to supply your own adapter to use your phone or tablet with the TV.
One Virginia Avenue provides internet for all renters. The network is OVA4-E, and the password is seaview8.
Towels and Bathing Suits
Please don’t hand or rest wet towels and swimsuits on the furniture. The building management doesn’t like hanging towels on the balcony railings, so just drape stuff over the balcony chairs to get dry.
Laundry
There is a laundry on the bottom floor...bring lots of quarters! There is a detergent vending machine down there too.
When You Leave
I will not be hiring housekeeping to keep rental costs as low as possible: because of this, and COVID-19 you’ll need to clean extra well when you leave. Here is a checklist of what to do when you leave:
Wipe Down:
All kitchen surfaces
All glass surfaces (coffee table, dining table, the two bureaus by the bed)
Door handles
All bathroom surfaces
TV Remotes (if you used them)
Run and empty the dishwasher
Quick vacuuming
Fold up and store balcony furniture inside the unit
Empty and wipe down fridge interior if it’s dirty
Empty all trash cans (trash chute is around the corner in the hallway)
Put the parking pass back into the desk
Lock balcony door, window and front door
Please do not leave food in the unit, even if it might be a nice surprise!
If the staff or anyone else asks, just say you are my friend and staying at my place for free!
